Another Sad Day in our Parrot World....

My first internet experience was with Li'l Miss Kiwi and her mom, Judie, while I was trying to find information about parrotlets. I learned almost everything I know about parrotlets from this wonderful woman and her beautiful little bird. I will always be grateful for the time and patience that was taken by Judie to educate me about these wonderful little birds.

I had the opportunity to meet Li'l Miss and her mom and dad a few years ago while they were traveling through my city. They are the most wonderful people and if everyone was like they are, the world would be a much better place.

To Li'l Miss Kiwi: We love you. While we are grieving at your passing, I hope you know how much you helped other bird owners like me, I will be forever grateful. You made it possible for me to feel knowledgable enough to add to our flock. Fly free, little one!

Soar happy and free precious Li'l Miss Kiwi! You know how much you were loved here on earth and you are oh so sorely missed. And you showed us such an incredible and amazing love - free and unconditional. Your last few moments were filled with favourite songs and the most loving hands held you as you quietly said good-bye.

I'm praying now for your family......
Lots of Love and Prayers, Monika
Joey and Beezy too.

Li'l Miss Kiwi... small and lovely, but with a heart as big as the world. Your tiny soul was filled with so much spirit that it could do nothing less than shine on many, blessing them with a little bit of yourself. Such a little bird... such a huge legacy. The prayers that helped you in your final weeks of struggle are nothing compared to the prayers from all of us who love you and lift you to heaven.
How wonderful that your final moments here wrapped you, your mom and dad in the tender but bittersweet glow of love. Rest well, dear sweet bird.

Dear Judie - I'm so very sorry to receive this news. Please know that LMK will live on and always help the other little birds through all the love you gave her and all the information she inspired you to share.

My prayers and good wishes are with your family for healing and answers that provide good news, even if they can't provide solace. Only your memories of your sweet angel can provide that, and I hope that soon the pain fades and that the sweet and life-filled memories will fill your heart and mind again. That's another way she'll live - through your smiles and memories.

Thank you for taking such wonderful care of her that through her life with you she knew all the comfort possible and knew that you were there to take care of her and do all you can, which you did. You really did.

Love from Nathalie and flock.

LMK was such a good parrotlet ambassador and there are many who learned about her and learned about her care from Judie and then made the decision to get their own parrotlets because of that. Judie and the rest of the Wellman family,
Through the years, the picture stories of Kiwi's travels and adventures have brought us much joy. We've laughed with you, cried with you, been frustrated with you...learned so very much from you and Kiwi. You, and she, have always felt like family. Even though I never actually "met" her, I felt I KNEW her! You shared so much! She set the standard we all tried to achieve with our birds. She let people know that female parrotlets could make good pets too. You made her a part of your life, your travels and you shared her lovely personality with us all. She was/is famous! She was quite a little lady, loved by many and will be sadly missed. But, she touched so many lives that she will never, ever be forgotten.
Thank you, Wellman family, for sharing this beautiful, precious little girl with us. I am honoured to have been a small part of her life.
Fly free, little Braveheart, you were always beautiful, but especially when flying. You will always hold a very, very special place in my heart.

Judie, I am so sorry for your loss. LMK was a loyal and loving member of your family and I'm sure she's going to be your little birdie guardian angel from now on. If she could have, I know she would have thanked you for your kind, gentle, loving care, you are a great bird mother. We are so blessed to love and be loved by these little parrotlets! We learn so much from them. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest LMK....You touched my heart and the hearts of many. You were pure perfection and truely The Parrotlet Ambassador. You brought pure joy and love to everyone, and especially your family. Ki, you are forever in my heart. Fly high and free dearest little one...soar with the Angels...for you are God's littlest Angel. I can say that I have been "touched by an Angel" and have been truely priviledged to know you and your loving mother Judie. I send love to Judie, John, and your dear Bippee. Bless you LMK. Li'l Miss Kiwi, You were so loved by your family and friends- even those who only knew you via internet. I have enjoyed your stories and pictures and, through you, I have grown very fond of your family. Wonderful little girl, you left us way too soon and we miss you so much. I hope you will find my sweet Little Louie at Rainbow Bridge and keep her company until I see her again one day.

Judie, thank you for "sharing" L'il Miss Kiwi with us all of her days.

Hi Judie:
We all feel such sorrow for your loss. Little Miss Kiwi was the reason my Mom has a parrotlet and ultimately what lead me to learn about Mr Tux and own my own Senegal Moochie. So in essence LMK is the reason such happiness and feathered friends came into our lives. Her passing certainly hit our hearts and we send much love and hugs your way. LMK will always have a special place and memory in our family.

Hi Judie, it is with great sadness that I read that L'il MIss Kiwi has left this earth. I was trying to keep up with her updates and must have missed the horrible day that she passed. I am so very sorry to hear of such a loss of such a sweet and loving little girl. She has taught many new and many "old" parrotlet owners things in her very short time on this earth. May she fly free and forever be looking over her beloved humans and one day help them to make their journey "home" as well. HUGE ((((((((((HUGS))))))))to you Judie and family. =)

LMK was a special soul who brightened our lives immensely. I whole-heartily believe that she was an instrument of God....touching us in a way only she could.

We love & miss you.

LMK and Judie helped me decide to become a p'let mom. Thanks to both of you for sharing your wisdom. Without it, many of us would never have known the joys of parrothood. My sympathy and prayers are with you.

Dear Judy,

Last week at work I snuck a peek at my e-mail from Parrotlet website and realized Li'l Miss Kiwi died. I sat there in shock and honestly could not get her out of my mind. Along with so many others you helped me get my Parrotlet, my angel and sweetheart. It was you're opinion I valued in making my choice of a Parrotlet. I am so very sorry. I know this is hard. I will leave you with a sentence I read recently that has put loss in perspective for me. Grief...is the price we pay for love.

Be well, and know you're loved ad admired.

Lil' Miss Kiwi,
I have had the pleasure of hearing about your fantastic life through your Mom. You will be greatly missed by not only your family, but everyone on the Senegal list, like myself.
I know that you are flying high in heaven, with all the other birds.

LMK will be missed!! I've been away on a camping trip in Oregon for the past 10 days. While gone I thought about LMK a lot (truly) and worried about her more than I even worried about my own two feathered babies at home with their sitter. I am so sad to come home and read the news of her passing. Hugs and positive wishes for a smooth healing for Judie and her family!

Posted by: Raechelle at August 9, 2006 10:35 AM

Dearest Judie,

I am so very, very sorry. My heart goes out to you. Together, you and she made a lasting contribution to aviculture via the internet that will not soon be forgotten. Everybody has heard of LMK, and many pet birds (and their owners) have better and richer lives today because of her.

Thank you for bringing her into mine!

Much love, (((HUGS))) and prayers,

Kathy

LMK - You've left a big aching hole in our hearts, but you'll never know pain or suffering again. You were one of the first parrotlets we met. We were blessed with your presence in our internet family and we'll miss you so much. You helped Judie teach us so much about what it's like to have a sweet little creature accept us and love us in spite of our faults. We'll always love you and think of you, flying "free as a bird". Our sincere condolences to you Judie and your family. I pray your hearts will mend in time and maybe you'll be able to honor LMK's memory of love and devotion by welcoming a new member of her family into yours. She would not want you & Tux & Lady Katherine to be alone.
